The Peak has been publishing since 1965. We distribute 4,000 copies off our paper to over 100 locations at SFU’s Burnaby, Surrey, Harbour Centre, and Woodward’s campuses (3,000 in the summer). We have a purposefully limited ad-to-content ratio, ensuring that your advertising will stand out from our finely-curated, high-quality content. Our new web advertising options provide a direct line between you and our 4,000 – 7,000 weekly views. We are the winners of the 2013 John H. Macdonald Award for Diversity Reporting, and of a 2013 Canadian Community Newspaper Award for Outstanding Campus Newspaper.

Sorry, The Peak does not sell ads on the front or back cover. We reserve the right to charge ads cancelled less than a week from publication or not received by press time at 50% of the booked price.
Web Advertising
The Peak has devoted a great effort to our web site, working both to make it easier to purchase advertising and track its effectiveness, and to increase traffic to the site in order to make it more valuable to advertisers. We generally see 12,000 unique visitors per month, and serve over 160,000 views.
We are still in the early stages of offering web advertising, so this information is subject to change, but as of May 2013, you may purchase a 325 x 325 pixel square on the top-right of every page for $60 per week. In the future, expect more ad spaces to open, with rotating ads also available.

How to Order
Advertising in The Peak is quick and easy. Follow these easy steps:
RESERVE ADVERTISING SPACE: Our sales guy is David Proctor, who can be reached at david@the-peak.ca or at (778) 782-3598. The deadline to reserve ad space is 5:00 p.m. on the Wednesday before it is to be published.
SEND YOUR AD MATERIALS: E-mail the file that you want printed to david@the-peak.ca. PDF format is preferred. Save colour images at 600 dpi and black-and-white at 300 dpi. If you want us to design an ad for you, please give at least a week’s notice. The deadline is 5:00 p.m. on the Thursday before it is to be published.
YOU’RE FINISHED! We will send you an invoice and copy of your ad as it was printed when it hits newsstands.
2013 Publishing Dates
The Peak is published every week that SFU holds regular classes. Issues are distributed to newsstands on Mondays, or Tuesdays if the university is closed for a public holiday on the Monday. We do not publish during exam periods, breaks between semesters, or reading breaks.
